If you are interested in joining the CCC, I would hope that you would remember above all that you will never be young again. You will never have the same opportunities I find out who you could be until you find out. Your time is now. Do it. Hard work, low pay, miserable conditions was our motto. And by this I'd seen countless people through all walks of life and all backgrounds find themselves and also find good paying careers throughout California's various departments and agencies as well as other states and federal. I can't recommend joining enough. It will change your life. You only get out of life what you put into it so go big. Push yourself. Explore. See things you may never see again and love every minute of it.

Some of the best years of my life I was at Klamath Falls del Norte location. I remember breaking a grip hoist, moving a bolder, doing stream restoration, and salmon repopulation, cutting down burnt tress with chainsaws I made it to a green hat. I wish I did more with that experience

In 1990, I signed up for the CCC, I got a phone call and off I went to SLO training, then Lake Tahoe center. The experience and opportunity it led to turned out to be the best decision I ever made and my counselor there was a great and encouraging person. To this day I use the skills and knowledge from the CCC, and have been able to use them for my entire life. If you are a young person, don't have it all together yet to invest time and money into school, not ready for the armed forces, I would highly recommend the CCC. I say this and mean it with 100% of my heart.

Damn i remember I had a door to door sales job in Sacramento when this happened, one guy I spoke to said he just moved because he lost everything in the fire. Thank you, or it would have been worse
